Make
cinnamon applesauce ornaments:
Drain a 1 pound jar of
applesauce overnight (you'll lose a lot of liquid!). Add 8 ounces
of cinnamon (large jars available at Wal-Mart) and mix together
well. Then pat into a ball, press hard to solidify and mix.
Pat out in 1-cup units onto wax paper, push to 1/4" thickness and
cut with cookie cutters. Punch a hole large enough to put a ribbon
through. Dry for several days, turning once or twice a day.
Hang on tree and enjoy the smell!

Make Christmas cookies from your favorite easy
recipes. Package them in clear or white bags, tie snips of
evergreen with red ribbons around the tops, and deliver then to elderly
or ill neighbors. Practice a little singing so you can go caroling
as you deliver them.
Make
decorations!
Make the old faithful - paper chains out of
red and green paper. See how long you can make the chains and hang
them around doors or a special cardboard tree covered with shiny paper.
Draw and cut out cardboard stars, glue
them on red, green, or gold fabric and cut the fabric around the
stars. You might also just use paper.

Make up a simple Christmas or Hanukkah story and
let the children act it out. Use old clothes or scrap material to
make costumes.
